👋 Introduction

Welcome to "Maher for Quran Circles Tracking" app. The app is designed to run locally and privately on your own device, helping Quran memorization (Hifz) circle teachers track their students (memorization, review, recitation testing, attendance, and monthly evaluation) without requiring an account or connecting to external servers — except for the optional backup feature described below.

By using the app, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

📦 Data We Collect

Stored locally on your device only

• Student data you enter yourself within the app (student name, guardian's phone number, memorization/review/reinforcement records, attendance, monthly evaluation, and any other data you add).
• App settings and your personal preferences (such as enabling fingerprint or PIN app-lock).

All of this data is stored in a local database on your device only, and is never sent to any server operated by us or any third party. We do not have access to your data, and we do not collect, analyze, or sell it to anyone.

🔒 App Lock (Fingerprint / PIN)

The app offers an optional lock screen using fingerprint or a PIN code to protect your privacy if others use your device. This is handled entirely by your device's operating system security features; neither the app nor we ever have access to this data.

☁️ Google Drive Backup (Optional)

The app offers an optional backup feature that lets you sign in with your Google account to save and later restore a single backup file of your database. This feature is off by default, and your Google account is never accessed without your explicit consent and sign-in.

When you use this feature:

• The backup file is stored in a private, hidden storage space belonging only to our app within your Google Drive account (called appDataFolder). This space does not appear in your regular Drive file list, and no other app can access it.
• We do not request access to any of your other files or folders in Google Drive.
• We only request your email address (linked to your Google account) to display it to you inside the app, so you know which account is currently linked.
• We (the app developers) do not view, access, or store your backup content on any server of ours; it is stored only inside your own Google account.
• You can unlink your account from within the app at any time, which immediately stops any future syncing.

🤝 Third-Party Sharing

We do not share student data or any personal data with third parties for commercial or advertising purposes. Data is either stored locally on your device, or (if you enable backup) stored within your own Google Drive account, and is not used for any other purpose.

The app offers an optional feature to share a student's report (as an image or text) via WhatsApp or any other app installed on your device, using the operating system's native share sheet. This sharing only happens when you manually tap the share button; the app never sends any data automatically without your direct action.

🗑️ Data Deletion

You can delete all app data at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing its data from system settings. You can also delete the backup from Google Drive by unlinking your account from within the app, or via your Google account permissions page (myaccount.google.com/permissions).

👶 Children's Privacy

This app is intended for use by adult teachers to organize their students' data, and is not directed at direct use by children. We do not collect data directly from students; all data is entered and managed by the teacher using the app, and remains the responsibility of the teacher and their educational institution.

🔄 Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes to the app. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised whenever changes are made. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
